FOOD SOURCING
Clark County Food Bank exists to “alleviate hunger and its root causes.” We source food through our Farming and Gleaning program, which increases the amount of fresh, nutritious, locally grown food that we distribute through our partner agencies. The Farming and Gleaning program also engages and educates the community through volunteer opportunities.
Our partnership with local grocers, Fresh Alliance, recovers food from Clark County stores that may otherwise go to waste.
We also source food through individual donations and food drives.
FRESH ALLIANCE
We recover over 2 million pounds of meat, dairy, and other perishable items donated by local grocery store partners.

Food Donations
Food donations come in several different forms. If you have food you would like to donate, whether from the store, your cupboards, or your farm/garden, please feel free to drop by our warehouse located at 6502 NE 47th Ave, or drop food off at one of our partner organizations!
Putting on a drive for an event or with your business or organization is another great opportunity to donate. If you are interested in putting on a drive, visit our Food & Fund Drive page for more information and to get started.
Fresh Alliance is our local grocery store food recovery program. It is driven by participation from over 30 local grocery locations and a team of over 50 volunteers.
Farming and Gleaning
Farming
In 2009, Clark County Food Bank increased its commitment to providing fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables by growing their own!
With the help of countless dedicated volunteers, a 10-acre plot at Heritage Farm produces over 70,000 pounds of vegetables for Clark County Food Bank each year.
Gleaning
Gleaning is when a crew of volunteers harvests unmarketable or extra produce at a local farm or helps out a community member in their efforts to grow food for the food bank. The Clark County Food Bank gleaning program began in 2012–with the help of 90 enlisted volunteers, 20 growers, 12 donors, and 9 gleaning events. We would love to expand our connection to Clark County’s incredible farming community.
Donate from your garden or farm!
Do you grow food in Clark County and want to donate some of your crops? Come drop off your homegrown produce, except leafy greens, at Clark County Food Bank. We currently do not have the programming in place to assist with community gleaning efforts but we are happy to help you find a solution in donating your abundance!
